Emotional Crisis Support Therapy in Kansas City
When it just feels like its too much…
There may be times when your emotions feel bigger than your ability to manage them. You might find yourself thinking, "I can't do this anymore," or wishing you could escape from the pain you're experiencing.
Therapy can help you slow things down, understand your emotions, identify what you're needing, and develop coping strategies that allow you to move through difficult moments without hurting yourself. We'll work together to build skills for getting through the hard moments while also addressing the deeper pain underneath them.

Together, we'll create a space where you can talk openly about what you're experiencing without fear of judgment. Support for Non-Suicidal Self-Harm
Self-harm can be difficult to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it. For some people, self-harm may temporarily provide relief from overwhelming emotions, help them feel something when they're numb, or create a sense of control when everything else feels chaotic. Regardless of why it happens, you deserve support—not judgment.
Therapy can help you understand the role self-harm has come to play in your life and explore safer ways to respond to intense emotions and urges.
Together, we can work toward understanding:
What happened before the urge?
What were you feeling or needing in that moment?
What does self-harm help you communicate, regulate, or escape from?
What other strategies might provide support without causing harm?
The goal isn't simply to take away a coping strategy without understanding why you needed it in the first place. It's to help you develop additional ways to cope while addressing the emotional pain underneath the behavior.
you don't have to have it all figured out…
Reaching out for therapy can feel especially difficult when you're already overwhelmed.
You don't need to know exactly what you need or have the right words to explain what's happening.
You can start with something as simple as: "I'm having a really hard time right now."
From there, we can take things one step at a time.
My goal is to provide a therapy space that feels warm, honest, compassionate, and free from shame.
We'll work together to understand your emotions, identify what you need, and develop skills that can help you navigate difficult moments with greater safety and self-compassion.
You don't have to minimize what you're going through because someone else "has it worse."
Your pain matters.
Whether you're struggling with intense emotions, suicidal thoughts, or self-harm, there is space to talk about it here.
